With brand new rainfall records, it is difficult to distinguish a Swedish summer from a Swedish autumn. We will all take some time off (whatever the weather might be), but keep the office open throughout the summer. Here’s a last update before the Swedish vacation period sets in:
• HiLight testing on Greenland: HiLight will provide cell phone charging both at music festivals around Sweden and during kayak expeditions to Greenland during the coming months. Rickard from Grönlandsresor will test how well HiLight stands the cold waters up north - follow his testing and Facebook blog here.
• Company Christmas Gift Certificates: Would you like to make a difference with your Christmas Gifts this year? Like previous year, we provide gift certificates to companies who want to provide light in remote areas lacking electricity. Contact Kristina on kristina.linhardt@hination.se to know more!
• HiNation in SWEACC mingle: HiNation took part in the SWEACC mingle event held at the Just Africa shop in central Stockholm. It was an eventful evening where we renewed and create new bonds with our African counterparts.

Today 1,7 billion people, about 25% of the world's population, lack access to electricity. Instead, they get light from open fires, kerosene lamps or battery flash lights. The result is unhealthy emissions, affecting the health of people locally and the environment globally, but also the risk related to fires in areas where water often is a scarce resource. With HiNation's portable solar panel HiLight they can produce their own energy for durable lighting and charging cell phones and other portable device.
