Hogia recruits Nettbuss Express's CEO

Hogia continues its focus on international public transport, and has further strengthened its industry expertise by recruiting Mats Johansson, former CEO of Nettbuss Express. Mats will be in charge of Hogia's initiative aimed at international bus and train operators, in which Hogia plans to invest nearly GBP 1 million over the next two years.

Mats has worked in public transport since becoming CEO of Flygbussarna i Väst AB (Airport Coaches in the west part of Sweden) in 2002. He became Deputy CEO of Nettbuss AB in 2008, and in 2012 he took over as CEO of the company's subsidiary Nettbuss Express, which includes the brand Bus4You. For six consecutive years, Bus4You has won top ranking in Svenskt Kvalitetsindex's (Swedish Performance Satisfaction Index) annual customer survey in the public transport industry.

"My experience in commercial transport has given me strong understanding of passenger needs. And I have also worked with transport procurement, which gives me a broad customer perspective that will be very useful in my new position at Hogia," says Mats.

Hogia had sales of over GBP 43 million in 2015, and has 600 employees in Scandinavia and the UK. Today, software from Hogia provides transport information to 90 percent of all public transport passengers in Sweden. The corresponding figure in the Nordic countries is 70 percent. The six biggest public transport authorities in the Nordic countries - those responsible for public transport in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Västra Götaland and Skåne - are Hogia's customers. Customers in the UK include Serco-Nortlink, Norfolk County Council, Red Funnel and Isle of Scilly Steamship Group, and Hogia is involved in an ongoing project with Transport for London.

– “We have had enormous success with our real time transport information systems, and now we aim to strengthen our position as a system supplier in Sweden and internationally. We are confident that Mats is the right person to take us there,” says Christer Lindberg, Executive Vice President, Hogia Group.
