Swedish IT company Hogia grows in transport systems
2015 was another strong year for Swedish IT company Hogia. For the seventh consecutive year, the company's workforce expanded by 25 employees. Sales increased to SEK 505 (487) million. The company had positive profits for the 25th consecutive year. Profit after net financial items was SEK 19 (23.5) million. This is in line with Hogia's ambition to make profits equalling 4 percent of sales.
"Our strategy has always been to think long-term and continue developing our business through organic growth and company reinvestment, primarily in product development. Now we are stronger than ever," says Bert-Inge Hogsved, CEO and founder of Hogia.
Solid position in Nordic public transport
Hogia's strongest growth in 2015 was in public transport systems. Software from Hogia now provides travel information to 90 percent of all public transport passengers in Sweden. The corresponding figure in the Nordic countries is 70 percent. The six biggest public transport authorities in the Nordic countries - those responsible for public transport in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo, Västra Götaland and Skåne - are Hogia's customers.
Hogia's involvement in British public transport continues. Hogia was recently assigned a leading role in an EU project where Transport for London is one of the participants. The project is aimed at integrating information flows from different transport types to give passengers better and more coordinated traffic information. In Great Britain, its customers include Norfolk County Council, Serco-Northlink Ferries and Red Funnel.
