    Växjö kommun får 1,35 miljoner för internationellt demokratiprojekt

    Internationellt Centrum för Lokal Demokrati, ICLD, har beviljat 1 350 000 SEK till ett partnerskapsprojekt mellan Växjö kommun och Komuna Vushtrri i Kosovo. Projektet ska genom digitalisering, öka och förbättra kommunens kommunikation och dialog med sina medborgare som är en viktig del i ett demokratiskt samhälle.

    Anti-corruption research shapes training of municipal managers in Ukraine

    In 2019, ICLD granted a research project on anti-corruption in Ukraine. This was before the full-scale invasion and the turn of history in Europe. Yet, as the research is published in 2023, the conclusions emerge as relevant as ever, telling a story of how democratic principles can be prioritised and upheld in a climate of adversity - and how collective dialogue efforts reinforce resilience.

    Connecting research and practice: How do local governments work with human rights?

    The Raoul Wallenberg Institute (RWI) studies how local governments understand, value and work with human rights. Fieldwork in five cities reveal common challenges in applying human rights principles and norms, and identifies ways to strengthen human rights work. Researchers say the findings from a scientific process can help local governments make well-informed and better decisions.
