Press release -

They are starting a resistance movement for undisturbed interaction on the Internet

Algorithms, ads, tracking and diluted ownership are the order of the day for users of social platforms to day. The two IT veterans, Bjørn Stormorken and Göran Wågström said enough is enough, and now starts Idka, a new social interaction platform where the user is in control and retain full ownership to their digital resources, without adds and algorithm generated content. “Back to basics” – with focus on social interaction, work and communication.

People have a pent-up yearn to revert to simplicity! The Slow food movement got a whole world to pause and concentration on local foods and health eating. Apple changed the mobile space with simplicity that just works. Leica makes the best AND the simplest cameras. People wants to find back to their real friends, they want to be able to express themselves freely with thinking about the negative consequences if someone else get to see what you read, write or think.

– Internet and social media have derailed and we drown in menus, filters, adds, invasive tracking, groomed content and false friends that keeps us from using social media as intended: to get in direct contact with each other and share freely. That is why we are introducing a new social interaction platform taking the user in the opposite direction, towards privileged and truly private interaction with real friends and colleagues, addressing the sharply increasing wariness with where Internet has gone, says Bjørn Stormorken, co-founder and CFO of Idka.

Hundred thousands of people have reacted to the lack of protection of privacy after the elections in the US. People are searching for secure alternatives with closed chats and encrypted communications. Most people are not aware of how pervasive and ubiquities data collection and commercialisation of the private data is and how it directly affects our lives now and in the future.

– With Idka, users have full control over their communications and content. Only intended readers can access posts, chats and files and there are no ways to re-share or re-distribute content. Delete is real delete, - it’s gone! There are no advertisements, we do not collect any information about you or your usage and we do not groom or interfere with what you are seeing, say Göran Wågström, co-founder and CEO of Idka.

Clean, essential social platform without noise, interference, adds and hidden agenda Idka is a modern, straightforward social interaction platform totally without noise and disturbances, simple to use and effective with easy navigation. There are no complicated, hidden privacy settings, it is not needed – everything is private on Idka by default and for ever. A social interaction platform where you remain in control and can be present 100% to express yourself freely – it’s safe.

Experienced founders sees Idka as an alternative to those who do not want to be a commodity
The four most highly valued companies in the world make their money by selling users' private information. Idka is an alternative for professional individuals and companies who want to have an effective tool to communicate and share information in a secure environment and who are tired of being exploited as a commodity by the major US platforms.

Founders of the company are the IT-veterans Bjørn Stormorken and Göran Wågström. Bjørn has a background in software, consulting and as a investment advicer. He has always had a strong commitment to human rights, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Directorate of the Council of Europe. Göran has for many years worked in various positions within Ericsson, CEO of the listed company Information Highway/Adcore and as advisor and investors to a variety of IT companies.

Idka is now launched as a free beta-service. Go to idka.com and sign up for free - or to get more information on how to be free on the Internet.
