Automated Data Agreement (ADA), by iGrant.io, recognised as a key solution by the Digital Public Goods Alliance

Today, the Automated Data Agreements solution (ADA) was added to the Digital Public Goods Alliance Registry and recognised as a key solution contributing to digital public goods (DPGs).

ADA was co-developed by iGrant.io and partners PrivacyAnt and Linaltech under the umbrella of a Next Generation Internet (NGI) eSSIF-Lab project. The Digital Public Goods Alliance (DPGA) is a multi-stakeholder initiative with a mission to accelerate the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. The goal of the DPGA and its registry of digital solutions is to promote DPGs in order to create a more equitable world and to increase the support for and prominence of digital solutions that have the potential to tackle global challenges and accelerate the attainment of sustainable development. ADA falls under UN sustainability goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). To become a DPG, all solutions are required to meet the DPG Standard to ensure they truly encapsulate open source principles.

Released under an Apache 2.0 licence, ADA provides a key component to any data intermediary or MyData Operator as it enables regulatory compliance and privacy by design for any personal data exchange with a focus on auditability and interoperability.

A data agreement records the conditions for an organisation to process personal data in accordance with privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR) captured in a signed receipt given to an individual. To automate the creation of the record and increase its trust assurance, a data protection impact analysis (DPIA) may be used to populate the record.

iGrant.io is a data exchange platform, using self-sovereign identity (SSI), OpenID and OAuth technologies, that enables organisations to unlock the value of personal data with a legally-endorsed DPIA.

Lotta Lundin, iGrant.io CEO and co-founder says, “We are truly honoured to have our ADA solution successfully reviewed by the DPGA. For us, being recognised as a DPG digital solution means that we are living up to the high standards that embody our software design principles”.
