The acrobats, Suspended days in Covid-19 time – Stockholm 2020

The graphic project "Le acrobate, Giorni sospesi al tempo del Covid-19 – Stoccolma 2020" ("The acrobats, Suspended days in Covid-19 time – Stockholm 2020") by Ramona Iurato aims to tell the reality of the pandemic period from a female perspective.

Ten illustrations show how women live – and sometimes survive – during a global pandemic through the personal reflection of the artist about the female universe.

What are women's thoughts, desires, anxieties and fears, when the world stops?

Women who are worried but still resilient and who tenaciously work from home, constantly busy among meetings and children, who require more attention during these days.

Women who live motherhood among canceled visits and necessary checks, women who do not live in a safe home and are victims of violence. Also, women who are able to broaden the boundaries of their homes thanks to imagination and create a revolution outside and inside their houses.

This graphic project aims to explore the female humanity that tends towards new challenges and it depicts it using intense and vibrant colors.

From May 27th to June 17th 2020, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, a new illustration by Ramona Iurato for the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm will be posted on the Institute's Facebook and Instagram pages.
