Sweden is the most competitive economy

A new released report from the World Economic Forum shows that Sweden is the most competitive economy in the European Union. The Lisbon Review 2010, measures the progress of the EU countries based on three types of comparison; the performance of the country, nation’s competitiveness in an international standard and economic competitiveness. Sweden is top ranked based on the high score in information society, liberalization reforms, financial services and sustainable development. Sweden is followed by Finland, Denmark and Netherlands.

In my daily work as Manager for strategy and research at Invest Sweden I have seen an increasing interest from foreign investors especially from the growth engines, India and China. One of the main reasons behind Sweden’s attractiveness is the competitive and stable investment climate, which is measured in the review.
