JOOL congratulates Yann Guichard on winning the GKSS Match Cup Sweden and Anna Östling on becoming a historic Women's Trophy champion

It came down to dramatical fifth and absolutely crucial match for the win of the tournament. Finalists Ian Williams and Yann Guichard challenged each other with close tactical sailing, constantly matching each other’s moves.

On the final leg it was all on with just a couple of lengths between the boats, Guichard was in the lead but Williams came closer and seemed to pass by. However, due to Guichard’s better speed his team eventually won 3-2 to become champions of this year's GKSS Match Cup Sweden.

"It was quite crazy. I am very proud of my team. We pushed each other and we managed to win. We made a mistake halfway through the race, and for a while, I thought we were going to lose. But in the end, we managed to get back and win. That was unreal. It has been a great week and this is a big win for us, absolutely amazing", says Yann Guichard.

Shortly before the men's final, the final of the ladies division, Women's Trophy, was settled between Renee Groeneveld and Swedish Anna Östling.

Anna Östling got a good start and took the lead straight away. Östling carried out almost flawless sailing against Dutch Renee Groeneveld in the two first matches.

In the third and final match, Östling was struggling for the first time. Groeneveld was in the lead but got a penalty and ended up far behind, allowing Östling to retain the lead and win the historic first final of the GKSS Women's Trophy by 3-0.

During the week you had the opportunity to visit JOOL at the Marstrand Race Village to learn more about JOOLs high-yield investments or to discuss funding for your project.
