Anders Nilback has been appointed the new CEO of Kale Foods AB, with the aim to create a more sustainable society through the power of plant-based food

In 2022, Kale Foods will extend its major investments within the Swedish vegan food industry under its own brand name Astrid & Aporna, whilst bringing several internationally acclaimed plant-based food products to the market.

Anders Nilback will take up his new position as CEO of Kale Foods on the 1st March 2022 and brings to the role more than 25 years of experience in the food business.

"Anders is an ideal recruitment for Kale Foods since he has a diverse knowledge of the industry, with a holistic approach. We welcome him as a strong addition to the family", says Måns Ullerstam, who is founder and CEO of the parent company Kale United AB -- the group that invests in world-leading vegan companies.

Kale Foods works to create a more sustainable society through plant-based foods, together with some of the market's most innovative products and strongest brands, which include Swedish vegan pioneers Astrid & Aporna.

In 2021, Kale Foods launched a range of internationally popular and pioneering brands to the Swedish market which included One Planet Pizza, Heura, Mighty Pea, Veganz and Livia's.

Kale United is now expanding rapidly and is raising SEK 100 million (€10 million) in capital.

Anders Nilback is one of the first batch of new recruits to meet the challenges of the future in the best possible way. His most recent role was as CEO of Brödverket, an innovation company within the Polarbröd brand family. In addition to this, he worked as the marketing and export manager at Fria Bröd, as an oat product consultant for Lantmännen Swedish Oats, as well as other notable positions.

Anders comments on his new role as CEO of Kale Foods:
