Premiere of The Second Wave on May 2:nd - a Swedish indie music documentary! / Premiär för The Second Wave den 2:e maj - en svensk indie-musikdokumentär!

Våren 2012 skickades det Svenska bandet La Fleur Fatale ut på en resa till Kalifornien. Under två veckor spelade de med legendariska psych-musiker, mötte människor som var del av att göra 60-talet till vad det blev både musikaliskt och spirituellt allt medan kopplingar mellan då och nu både musikaliskt och politiskt berördes. Vad är egentligen skillnaden mellan nu och då? Var 60-talets protester mot Vietnam den tidens reaktion som Anonymous uppvisar idag? Allt detta ser ni i en entimmes dokumentär, The Second Wave, som har premiär online den 3:e maj.

Den tredje maj släpper de även en ny singel, "How Long Is Too Long", skriven av Duncan Faure från Bay City Rollers och Rabbit som de mötte under inspelningen. "... they are really one of my favorite bands now along with Beatles plus a few others." säger Duncan själv.

Vilka är då La Fleur Fatale? Deras framgångar började 2007 vid sitt första albumsläpp och till dags dato har deras musik nått över 200 miljoner människor i olika synkar (American Airlines, Six Flags, Eddie Bauer, Kaiser Permanente, Peak Season (MTV), Brew Masters (Discovery), AMC TV, TV4 Sport m.fl.). De har turnerat runt i UK, Tyskland och Nederländerna och tidigare även spelat i New York(ett gig med Ebbot från premiären av en kortfilm som gjordes då sändes i P3s Musikguiden 2011) men även spelat i Nyhetsmorgon här hemma i Sverige och fått epitetet ”Sveriges bäst bevarade musikhemlighet.” av svensk musikpress. (Groove 2009). Nu har de två album, två EP’s och en singel bakom sig.

The Second Wave har sin urpremiär i Salong 1 på Filmstaden i Linköping dagen före den släpps online, den 2:e maj klockan 19:00 med insläpp 18:30 med frågestund efteråt. Onlinepremiären sker på YouTube den 3:e maj och den dyker då först upp på GAFFA.se. GAFFA är en av de som valt att stödja projektet tillsammans med Classic Rock Magazine, Sound Pollution och Steve Clayton USA. Mark från Strawberry Alarm Clock flyger över från LA för att närvara vid premiären.

Bandet i sig visste bara om vilka gig de skall göra på resan, de leds runt av sin manager som förser dem med information under resans gång, han hade en plan redan från början när han tog sig an bandet och The Second Wave är en del av den resan. De som filmat, klippt eller på något vis jobbat med dokumentären i sig har gjort det pro bono, av kärlek till bandet, dokumentären och projektet i sig.

Medverkar i The Second Wave gör bland annat La Fleur Fatale så klart, Ebbot Lundberg (TSOOL, som även han kliver in i La Fleur Fatales egen studio i slutet av mars för att medverka på en låt), Strawberry Alarm Clock, James Lowe (Electric Prunes), Duncan Faure (Bay City Rollers, Rabbit), Patrick Campbell-Lyons (Original Nirvana) m.fl.

Spring 2012 the Swedish band La Fleur Fatale embarked on a journey to and through California. During two intense weeks they played with legendary psych musicians and met people who was part of making the 60’s into what it later became both musically and spiritually. And in the meantime connecting the past with the present both musically and politically. What is the difference between then and now? Is the Anonymous movement now what 60’s anti war movement was back then? All of this you will find in the one hour documentary The Second Wave wich premieres online May 3:rd.

May 3:rd they also release a new single, "How Long Is Too Long", written by Duncan Faure of Bay City Rollers and Rabbit who they met when filming. "... they are really one of my favorite bands now along with Beatles plus a few others." Duncan says.

And who are La Fleur Fatale? The success for the band started in 2007 with the release of their debut album and up until today their music have reached over 200 million peopla in different syncs (American Airlines, Six Flags, Eddie Bauer, Kaiser Permanente, Peak Season (MTV), Brew Masters (Discovery), AMC TV, Swedish TV4 Sport etc.) They have toured the UK, Germany, Netherlands and also been to New York (a gig with Ebbot from The Soundtrack Of Our Lives from the premeiere of a short film made on that trip was later aired on national Swedish Radio P3 on the show Musikguiden in 2011) but they have also played live on national Swedish tv on Nyhetsmorgon on TV4 and the Swedish press wrote ”The best kept musical secret we got.” (Groove 2009). So far they have released two albums, two EP’s and one single.

The Second Wave have it’s premiere at Salong 1 at the movie theatre Filmstaden in Linköping, Sweden, May 2:nd at 19:15, the doors open 18:45 and there will be Q&A afterwards. The online premiere will take place on May 3:rd on YouTube but it will surface first on the Swedish music magazine GAFFA’s website www.gaffa.se. GAFFA is one of the companies that have chosen to endorse the project together with Classic Rock Magazine, Sound Pollution and Steve Clayton USA. Mark from Strawberry Alarm Clock is a special guest on the premiere night, he's flying over from LA to attend.

The band themselves only know about the shows they are supposed to play on the trip through California, they are lead on htr journey by their manager that call in the next destination. He had a plan right from the very first day he took on working with the band and The Second Wave is a part of the trip. All the people involved in the making of this documentary have been working pro bono, by love to the band and the project itself.
