KTM: All-Time-High in 2012

» Highest sales and turnover in the company’s history

» + 32% increase of sales to 107,142 bikes

» + 16% increase of turnover to more than EUR 610 million

Record sales and turnover in 2012

In business year 2012 KTM achieved the highest sales and turnover in the

company’s history. KTM sold 107,142 bikes worldwide, thereof more than 8,000

units of the Duke 200 were sold in India by our partner Bajaj. This represents

an increase in sales of 32% to previous year. KTM will therefore achieve a

turnover of more than EUR 610 million in business year 2012.

Market development Europe -12%; Sales KTM in Europe +9%

Despite a still declining motorcycle market, especially in Europe, this increase

in sales results in a strong gain of market shares. Although the market in

Europe declined by more than 12% in 2012 KTM managed to increase its

market share by approximately 33%, which results in a market share of 7.5% of

the total European market.

Market development USA +1.2%; Sales KTM in USA +25%

In the USA, where the market developed with 1.2% slightly positive, not only

the market share but also sales and turnover could be increased by 25%

respectively.

Tenfold increase of sales in South East Asia

“The positive market development in Asia, where sales could be increased

more than tenfold, contributes considerably to the company’s success” explains

Stefan Pierer, CEO, delighted with the all-time-high in the company’s history.
