SUPERENDURO CHAMPION AND SUPERCROSS WINNER!

SuperEnduroTo the collective enjoyment of the French crowd, the popular Polish rider Taddy Blazusiak got straight down to business, wrapping up the title after the first of three Prestige Class finals when he slipped past Mathias Bellino with two laps to win the first race.

With a second place in Final 2 and the victory in Final 3 on his KTM 250 EXC-F Blazusiak not only took the overall win at Tours but also a 64-point lead in the championship which is testament to the fact that he remains at the apex of his sport on both sides of the Atlantic after winning also the US Endurocross Series 2013!

“For sure it was a great race. I knew I had it in me, as my speed was good and the bike has been great all year, but I had to stay out of trouble. I really wanted to get a win in the first final so I could enjoy the event, and that plan worked out. Once that the championship was safe I decided to go for the overall event win, which just makes it that much sweeter. I’d like to thank the team for all of their hard work, as it’s amazing to think that this is my fifth SuperEnduro championship”, Blazusiak said.

When the gate dropped for the main event, Ken Roczen rounded the first corner in 3rd place while teammate Ryan Dungey was two spots back in 5th position. With six laps to go, Roczen moved closer to leader Ryan Villopoto and began to apply pressure to take over the lead.

Villopoto fell victim to the pressure and missed a triple jump allowing Roczen to move around him on his KTM 450 SX-F and to take the position. Now in the lead, Roczen held steady and was able to hang on to cross the checkers and take his second-ever career 450SX class win. His teammate Dungey hung on to finish 3rd.

“It feels so great to get a win”, stated Roczen. “Getting on the podium is nice, but to get a win is so much better. It proves that hard work pays off. I am so happy I was able to pull it off and so thankful to my team for being behind me and building me a great bike.”

Now halfway through the season, Roczen trails Villopoto 9 points in the overall standings while Dungey sits 4th overall in the championship.
