Lindahl advises Koenigsegg in forming strategic partnership with NEVS
Lindahl acts as legal advisor to Koenigsegg Automotive AB in forming a strategic partnership with National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB (NEVS). NEVS is making a capital injection of EUR 150 million by the issue of new shares and purchase of already existing shares, thereby taking a 20 percent minority stake in Koenigsegg’s parent company.
Additionally, the parties are forming a joint venture to expand into new market segments. NEVS is contributing USD 150 million in starting capital for a majority stake in the joint venture. Koenigsegg provides intellectual property, technology licenses, and product design. NEVS and Koenigsegg are partnering up to develop a product for new segments, leveraging both companies’ strengths.
NEVS, with head office in Trollhättan and about 650 employees, focuses on producing electric premium vehicles and is indirectly majority owned by Evergrande Health Industry Group Limited, which shares are listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange.
Koenigsegg Automotive, with head office in Ängelholm and over 200 employees, is a globally leading producer of exclusive hyper cars and is led by Christian von Koenigsegg.
