Pressmeddelande -
Courtney Marie Andrews är tillbaka med ny musik och i vår kommer hon till Skandinavien!
Courtney Marie Andrews has returned today with her first new song in three years - “Cons and Clowns” - a celebration of living authentically, and embracing our truest selves amidst the chaos of the current world. Showcasing the GRAMMY nominee’s “astonishingly beautiful” (Stereogum) vocal work, “Cons and Clowns” builds on a signature songwriting approach that “doesn’t just tell us truths; but makes us feel them poignantly, and right on time” (NPR Music). The original song arrives today with an accompanying visual from director Jacq Justice (Laufey, Samia) - shot during a picturesque roadtrip up the California coastline - which captures a wallflower’s empowering journey to spreading their wings.
“Cons & Clowns is an ode to all the artists, outsiders, and shy loved ones you want to see shine!,” says Andrews. “In this world of growing sameness I wanted to write a love letter of encouragement to anyone who was afraid to be their wildest and weirdest self, especially amid the dark landscape of now. With a desire to embody the unencumbered playfulness of youth, I played the flute on this track, an instrument I haven’t played since my childhood.”

While “Cons and Clowns” marks Courtney Marie Andrews’ first new song release since her 2022 album Loose Future (“a shimmering piece of self-acceptance,” per Pitchfork), she’s consistently broken new ground as a multi-disciplinary artist across mediums. Just last month, Andrews published her second collection of poetry - the celebrated Love Is a Dog That Bites When It's Scared, via Simon & Schuster - and her prolific work as a painter (often displayed across her social media) has led to recent gallery showings. For her return to recorded music, Andrews plays twelve-string acoustic guitar - as well as singing and rediscovering the flute - and is joined by drummer Chris Bear of Grizzly Bear, with producer Jerry Benhardt (Ron Gallo, Yola) adding bass, high strung guitar, piano, juno, farfisa and mellotron.
With the arrival of “Cons and Clowns” today, Andrews has also shared her first tour dates of 2026 - which will bring her across Europe and the United Kingdom next February and March. Andrews will tour North America next year as well - and continue to release new music, with songs touching on themes like limerence, loss and the pursuit of love.
