Ben King at LUDC is awarded the 2025 Medeon Award of SEK 50,000
“Dr Ben King receives this award for his innovative research on proteins that protect and maintain the functionality of pancreatic beta cells. This research provides important insights that could pave the way for novel therapeutic strategies in diabetes.”
Dr Ben King, Associate Professor at Lund University, will be awarded the Medeon Award on Thursday, November 13, at the World Diabetes Day Skåne, which will take place at CRC, Clinical Research Centre in Malmö. The Medeon Award is awarded by Medeon in collaboration with Moll Wendén Law Firm and Max Matthiessen.
What role do diet, exercise, and diabetes technology play for people living with diabetes?
This year the focus of World Diabetes Day Skåne will be on health and well-being for people with diabetes. Living with diabetes can be challenging, but it is still possible to live a good life. World Diabetes Day Skåne highlights everything from the role of lifestyle in diabetes management to the importance of diabetes technology and healthcare.
World Diabetes Day Skåne is organized in connection with the International Diabetes Day, which raises awareness for everyone living with diabetes. Our speakers will share the latest knowledge and research on diabetes.
The Medeon Award recipient at 5:10–5:40 PM
The Medeon Award of SEK 50,000 is awarded to an exceptional diabetes researcher at Lund University Diabetes Centre, followed by a lecture.
Companies and organisations active in the field of diabetes will participate as exhibitors.
Diabetes researcher Malin Fex from Lund University Diabetes Centre will be the moderator.
Everyone interested in gaining new knowledge and insights about diabetes is welcome to attend.
Lectures take place from 4:00–7:00 PM. The exhibition is open from 3:00–7:30 PM.
