Mondelēz International’s Sustainable Futures Makes Impact Investment in European Regenerative Agriculture Platform eAgronom that will benefit farmers in Sweden.

Mondelēz International, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDLZ) has announced that its impact investing platform, Sustainable Futures, has made an investment in eAgronom, an Estonian company providing digital tools to support farmers in their transition to more sustainable practices.

eAgronom currently works with over 3,000 farms, managing more than 2.5 million hectares of farmland across 10 European countries, including Sweden, where farmers are committed to balancing productivity with environmental responsibility by adopting better solutions for sustainability. Its platform provides financial incentives and an integrated farm management solution, helping farmers transition to regenerative agriculture, access carbon credit markets, and strengthen their financial resilience. The investment, raised as part of the company’s Series A2 fundraising round, will enable eAgronom to expand in key markets and accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices to over 4 million hectares of farmland by 2026.

Impact investment firm Sagana advised on the deal and conducted due diligence to validate eAgronom’s commercial offering and its positive impact. By promoting regenerative farming practices, eAgronom helps to restore and regenerate depleted soils, while reducing carbon emissions through long-term storage and improving climate change resiliency for farmers.

“This investment in eAgronom fits well with the Climate impact thesis of Sustainable Futures and our wider sustainability goals of building greater resilience within our key supply chains,” said Susanne Mathis-Alig, Senior Director, Sustainability at Mondelēz International.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Mondelēz as investors,” said Robin Saluoks, CEO of eAgronom. “More broadly, partnerships with food companies play a vital role in driving progress toward net-zero food production over the long term. Together, we can empower farmers to adopt sustainable practices and improve soil health, which are both essential steps toward building a sustainable agriculture sector."

“eAgronom’s platform provides a broad set of capabilities covering project development, on-the-ground support, and financial access,” said Michael Weber, Senior Director, Climate & Environment at Mondelēz International. “We look forward to supporting the team’s efforts, especially on the insetting side with carbon removals forming part of many companies’ carbon reduction pathways while external standards continue to evolve.”

“I am delighted that Mondelēz has proudly announced another sustainability investment that will directly benefit farmers in Sweden. This reaffirms our strong commitment to both environmental stewardship and supporting the communities where we operate. Sustainability is a key priority for us and for our local consumers, who remain at the heart of everything we do. I truly believe that every bite of our delicious snacks is even more satisfying when you know they are made with high-quality ingredients, in a way that helps both people and the planet thrive,” said Julia Lindberg, Country Lead Sweden at Mondelēz International .
