Mycorena breaking the ground to build the future of food in Falkenberg

On Tuesday, the Swedish food-tech company Mycorena, had a groundbreaking ceremony for their new production site in Falkenberg. A historical moment from many perspectives: this factory will be the first of its kind and it will aid in the company's mission to transform the protein industry as a whole.

"This new Promyc Production Plant (3P), that we are building here in Falkenberg, is the first of its kind in the whole of Scandinavia. We are aiming to produce Promyc on a large scale, and also have the possibility to expand globally. Mycorena will be a global brand, and we are kickstarting from here" said Ramkumar Nair, Founder, and CEO

When asked about the reasons for selecting Falkenberg for their landmark production plant, Mycorena highlights the municipality's support, and their ambition to gather smaller and innovative companies to build a community of food-tech companies in the region.

Present at the ceremony was the whole Mycorena team together with the board, investors, and representatives from Falkenbergs kommun. In his speech, the Chairman of the Board Tore Sveälv said:

"This factory will put Mycorena on the map, not only in Sweden but globally, and we will expand this business and the Mycorena journey, I look forward to the future"

The construction of the new factory is now at full speed and the plant is set to be operational by Q4, 2022.

On the sign: "The future of food will be produced here!"
