Nonwoven has a lot of advantages as it is possible to adjust the properties of the material. Nonwoven can be made liquid-repellent, absorbent, soft, stretchy, rigid, alcohol-resistant and coated with other materials or substances.

Nonwoven for healthcare

• Spunbond: The most common nonwoven material. Water repellent by nature but it is possible to make it absorbent. The properties of spunbond can be adjusted to a great extent. Stretchy spunbond is available for disposable clothing.
• Spunlace: very soft nonwoven. Good for products close to the skin.
• Meltblown: the most common material in the core of face masks that filters the air well.
• Chemically or thermobonded nonwoven: available, for example, with absorbent properties
