New partner to accelerate Scandinavian Nonwovens' continued growth!

Martin Kockum is joining as partner and Sales manager at Scandinavian Nonwoven. He has a background in banking and finance and most recently worked for the University of Kristianstad. The goal is to support the company in its planned growth.

Scandinavian Nonwoven is one of Scandinavia's largest suppliers of nonwoven – a type of industrial textile used in many types of products such as hygiene products, building materials, healthcare products and the furniture industry. The company produces tailor-made solutions for other manufacturing companies.

Martin Kockum will contribute with new perspectives and financial strategy, says current CEO and main shareholder Johan Georgson.

"Martin and I have been in contact for several years and I am impressed by his ability to quickly absorb new information and find solutions to different challenges. He will be an important key in taking the company to a new level," says Johan Georgson

Martin takes over the co-ownership after Bengt Wannehag, who retires after 19 years in the company.

Unlike many other companies that were negatively effected by the corona pandemic, the increased need for mouth protection and healthcare products meant that the Kristianstad company Scandinavian Nonwoven had to expand its production capacity to cover the increased demand. Since then, raw material prices have increased and production in China has largely had to be moved to other parts of the world due to logistics. And despite rising inflation and an uncertain financial situation in the world, the company has an agressive growth plan for upcoming five years.

Martin has held several positions within large organizations but is looking forward to stepping into a smaller manufacturing company and hopes to contribute with his experience.

"I will take over part of the sales but will also work a bit with internal processes and look at how we can work more efficiently to reach the growth targets we have set. I think I have a lot to contribute on the financial strategic part.”

Martin started in February and will work both strategically with company development together with Johan Georgson and the board, and operationally with customer relations.
