Phenomenal Abstract Expressionist Artist CHELSEA DAVINE Brings Vibrant Art to Skåne

Chelsea's work has been described as  'captivating'and 'spectacular'. She is a British artist who has been working in Barcelona for the past 20 years. Chelsea is a force of nature, passionate about the material she obsesses over whether it be metal, oil, gold leaf or linen. She finds inspiration from the coast, the sea, lines of desire that criss-cross the landscape, time and its corrosive effect on materials. Her work is breathtaking, sensual and beautiful and has been internationally exhibited on numerous occasions.  The Nordic Art Agency & Advisory are thrilled to introduce her paintings to Sweden and to welcome her to our International Art Pop Up exhibition this March in Malmö.

As Chelsea explains:

"Every painting I begin, the layers and texture continue to fascinate me as does the process. My subject matter remains the same, the material itself, the coast, the sea, lines of desire that criss-cross the landscape, time and its corrosive effect on materials and finding the beauty in what we see around us. The world filters into my studio, colour, light, politics, religion, people. Conversations remain with me, maps mesmerize me, travel enthuses me. Creating and painting are imperative, I couldn’t live a day without.“

Chelsea was educated in London and studied Fine Art in Middlesex and Valencia University before settling on her home and creating a studio in Barcelona, inspired by the light and coast.

Chelsea will be one of the artists present at the Press Preview event on Thursday 1st March in Malmö. She will also be hosting an event, WOMEN IN ART, with Nordic Art Agency Founder Juliet Rees-Nilsson, on Saturday 3rd March 14:00. The event will centre around women today working in the art world from the perspective of the artist and art dealer.
