Kone Mara debuts single ”The Ordinary Place” on June 4th
They say all good things come in threes, which is also true for collective Kone Mara. The poet, the musician and the technician - three creative souls with three different creative backgrounds who, by chance, found each other both musically and artistically. On June 4th, they release their debut single ”The Ordinary Place” through Northbound Stockholm.
”We met at a breakfast table, and in the early morning hours, a friendship arose. We shared secrets and wrote music inspired by our stories. Coffee, poems, dreams and wishes.”
In a field where most people work at night, they united in their appreciation and love for the early morning hours. Together, they’ve combined their separate backgrounds and influences in a unique and romantic soundscape where nostalgic and organic instruments are accompanied by electric and futuristic synthesizers. ”The Ordinary Place” is a song about feeling homesick.
About traveling and searching for oneself and one’s home anywhere and everywhere, only to realize that it’s
been there all along. The song is written and produced by the trio and mixed by Simon Nordberg, known for
his collaborations with Swedish greats such as Kent, Jocke Åhlund, Håkan Hellström and Theophilus London.
