Sveriges Radio Web TV Services delivered by Picsearch

Picsearch has signed an agreement with Swedish Radio to develop a new flash video player to coincide with the re-launch of Sveriges Radio websites (www.sverigesradio.se).

Services being delivered by Picsearch include on-demand video snippets from the radio studios.

Per Siren, SR Digital Media, said “Sveriges Radio chose Picsearch primarily because they could provide all the required functionality and the interface worked well with Sveriges Radio’s systems.  The clear and easy-to-learn online administration interface is important given the many different users at Sveriges Radio. The flash video player has also been further developed to meet our requirements.”

The backend technology to power the Web TV solution is also provided by Picsearch and includes an intuitive web-based management system. Transcoding of multiple video formats into optimal PC and mobile streams also features as part of the service.

In the coming weeks the service will be available more widely on Sveriges Radio websites.

This is a pilot project initiated by Swedish Radio and after evaluation Swedish Radio may extend the services through a new agreement.
