Possio announces wireless care phone solution

Modern technology is increasingly used to make people feel safe if something happens. These solutions are referred to as things like safety alert, panic button, medical alert call, emergency triggers, personal security system, nurse call, care call, lifeline alarm, care phone, wrist alarm, aid alarm, assault alarm. The availability of such solutions has enabled home care of sick, handicapped and old people, increasing the quality of life for a lot of people. The rapidly aging population in the world is expected to further increase the need for home care.

"The transition from fixed telephone connections to mobile makes huge investments in care phone solutions useless which we decided to do something about", says Mr Ralf Wittig, Head of products at Possio. "The investments in products and probably more importantly the user training is significant and we have developed a solution which allows to bring all these investments into a mobile network solution", continues Mr Wittig.

Possio Care Phone GSM Connector is based on a carrier grade GSM connector and specific software and settings to enable care phones and similar solutions. Already installed care phone terminals or new ones are simply connected to a Care Phone GSM Connector with a SIM card, and the solution works exactly as before.

"We normally use our expertise in GSM narrow band data to improve our clients businesses but in this case we enable people to improve their quality of life which feels great", says Mr John Ericsson, Head of Channel Sales at Possio."

Possio Care Phone GSM Connector is available since a couple of weeks but due to the seriousness of the application, it has been tested and verified since last year.
