​DeltaNordic chairs successful seminar for Epiroc in China

In mid-September DeltaNordic China in Nanjing arranged a whole day seminar on equipment certification and technology exchange. 23 engineers and sourcing personnel at Epiroc in Nanjing, China took part in the seminar. A very successful event according to the participants.

At the seminar, the participants were given a review of the international rules and regulations that apply to exports from China. This is a highly interesting subject as Epiroc China is looking into the possibility of developing the global market from China with regard to its business in Nanjing.

Speakers from DeltaNordic China included CEO Stefan Spehar, Sales Manager Vicky Ma and two of the company’s engineers. Lars Bäckström, Sales Engineer at DeltaNordic in Kungsängen, Sweden, gave a talk on the regulatory requirements that apply for CE marking of equipment.

Lars Bäckström’s main focus was the applicable IEC Directive that Europe is subject to. This harmonises EU standards with most countries except the USA and Canada. The participants were also given insights into the rules that apply on the North American market.

“The audience was very interested and enthusiastic,” Bäckström says. “And they asked a lot of questions. It was fun and to our credit that so many people came.”

During the day, continuing cooperation between the companies was discussed. The talks concerned ensuring the right know-how and resources are available at DeltaNordic in future cooperation.

“It was a successful day,” Stefan Spehar feels. “We had a good dialogue with the participants who were curious to learn more about our working methodology and asked many questions particularly concerning DISP*, our agile process that we apply within design and product development work.”

The seminar was arranged within the parameters of the DeltaNordic Academy, which aims to ensure that the right know-how is always available in the right place within the DeltaNordic organisation and also to share our knowledge and experience with our most important customers via this type of event.

DeltaNordic and Epiroc have been working together in Nanjing since 2010 when DeltaNordic China started the business. DeltaNordic China supplies electric control systems for Epiroc mining equipment. Today, DeltaNordic has operations at three locations; Örnsköldsvik (HQ), Kungsängen north of Stockholm, and Nanjing, China. All three sites have design, sales, purchasing and production units.
