Skinome innovation helps very dry, sensitive skin find balance and calm

On 7 October, Skinome launched Repair Emulsion, and it is not just another barrier cream. Rather than simply adding moisture and relief from the outside, Repair is developed to improve the skin’s own ability to retain moisture and to make it less sensitive over time. At its core is a proprietary mineral complex of calcium and manganese salts, rooted in founder Johanna Gillbro’s research into the skin’s own defence systems. Its development took almost eight years.

“I moisturise and moisturise, yet my skin feels dry again.” This is how many people with dry, sensitive skin describe their everyday life. The problem is not always that the skin gets too little moisture, but that it struggles to hold on to it. Among those who take Skinome’s skin test, 34 percent report dry to very dry skin and 70 percent report sensitive to hypersensitive skin. For many, these are not two problems, but one.

The mineral complex helps the skin retain moisture and helps make it less reactive. It is combined with ectoin, ceramides, squalane and glycerin, which hydrate instantly and strengthen the barrier over time.

100% experienced calmer skin
22 people with dry, sensitive skin, aged 41–73, used Repair Emulsion morning and evening for four weeks. Self-assessed results:
– 100% experienced calmer skin
– 95% experienced more hydrated skin
– 95% experienced less tightness in the morning

Several participants also needed less product as the study progressed, as their skin became less dry.
