Swedish delegation from Prince Couple's Foundation to New York for World Dyslexia Assembly with the foundation’s partner Microsoft.

The Prince Couple's Foundation and Microsoft Sweden have initiated a partnership within the area of dyslexia and equal education for children and young people.

The collaboration aims to spread knowledge about dyslexia, refine the perception of dyslexia by highlighting its nuances and show how modern technology can make it easier for children and young people with writing and reading difficulties to reach their full potential.

On April 4th 2023 the Prince Couple's Foundation together with Microsoft Sweden, in the presence of HRH Prince Carl Philip and HRH Princess Sofia, will arrange a roundtable discussion on the topic “Children's right to equal education”.

The Foundation and Microsoft will gather key high level stakeholders to discuss the importance of investing in children's right to equal education in order to create thriving societies, and thriving workplaces equipped to handle future challenges. The topics discussed will be around neurodiversity, and more specifically dyslexia, and the opportunities surrounding technological tools and accessibility. The ambition is to shift focus from theory to practice starting with the people in the room.

The Prince Couple and the foundation will also attend the international World Dyslexia Assembly on April 3, arranged by British non-profit Made by Dyslexia.More about the World Dyslexia Assembly: World Dyslexia Assembly. The World Dyslexia Assembly tour was launched at the Royal Palace in Stockholm Sweden during the spring of 2022. This official visit underlines and continues to emphasize the Prince Couple's long term commitment and engagement to the cause.

In addition to the roundtable and the World Dyslexia Assembly, The Prince Couple’s Foundation will also, together with their Royal Highnesses be making a school visit to the Windward School. The Windward School is a school specialized for children with dyslexia. Nationally recognized for it's development of instructional programs designed specifically to help students achieve language proficiency, Windward's academic curriculum is research-based and multisensory in nature and is designed to give students the skills they need to succeed in school and return with confidence to mainstream educational settings. During the visit the delegation will be visiting classes and students as well as meeting both staff and student councils at the school.
