Recab sponsoring master’s degree project (JuRP)

This is a project conducted by mechatronic students at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan (The Royal Institute of Technology) in Stockholm. They wanted to try and build a robotic system that can juggle without any human controlling. Our contribution to this project is through sponsoring with two industrial color cameras with lenses. The cameras equip the robot with object recognition, depth estimation and trajectory estimation. Link to movie: https://recab.com/recab-sponsoring-masters-degree-project-jurp/

The project was originally started in 2018 and continued in 2020 by this third generation design team consisting of:

  • Faiza Ali
  • Mattias Klang
  • Fredrika Ardestam
  • Andreas Baldhagen
  • Tobias Ekman
  • Behnam Arya
  • Simon Calminder
  • Filip Elander

The camera used in this application: DFK 33UP1300 - USB 3.0 Industrial Color Camera by The Imaging Source
Features:

  • 1/2 inch ON Semiconductor CMOS Python sensor (PYTHON 1300)
  • 1,280×1,024 (1.3 MP), up to 210 fps
