Ricoh receives prestigious security certification from IEEE
Amstelveen, 12 May 2011 - Ricoh Europe (Netherlands) B.V a specialist in office solutions, managed document services and production printing has been recognised for the secure technology and design of its products. It has obtained the Common Criteria certification conforming to IEEE 2600.1 for multi-function printers - Aficio MP2851, Aficio MP 3351, Aficio MP4001 and Aficio MP 5001. The certification is an international standard for IT security products and verifies that the security functions implemented meet its high standards. It also evaluates the processes for product design, manufacturing, and delivery.
Olivier Vriesendorp, Director Product Marketing at Ricoh Europe says: “The Common Criteria certification conforming to IEEE2600.1 recognises Ricoh’s ongoing commitment to secure information management in the office, for general office use up to highly confidential materials for legal or government use. There is no doubt that businesses today are increasingly aware of the need to protect the data stored on their office equipment, therefore at Ricoh we have gone the extra mile to give customers peace of mind when using our products”.
The Aficio MP2851, Aficio MP 3351, Aficio MP4001 and Aficio MP 5001 are the first globally available models to be certified. In March 2010, Ricoh’s multi-function printers for the Japanese market became the first in the world to obtain the certification. .
Ricoh is also pursing Common Criteria certification conforming to IEEE 2600.1 for other products in its range, and will pioneer in the development of new security features, providing customers with enhanced office security into the future.
