Edelia chooses Sagem Communications for Energy control solutions

Edelia, a subsidiary of EDF, has chosen Sagem Communications as a partner to design and make a new generation platform for remote energy management and control. In addition to tracking consumption and detecting leaks, this new solution will enable the integration of a number of services, including remote management of domestic energy.
With this innovative solution, Edelia will meet the technological challenges raised by today's various domestic energy uses, and open the way to remote management of household equipment.

To design the new platform, several key skills of Sagem Communications will be put to use : machine-to-machine communication (M2M), energy metering, or management of terminals, all areas of expertise that the company has acquired in the field of telecommunication systems.

In addition, as Sagem Communications has its own production resources, the company will manufacture the system.

"Since it was founded in 2005, Edelia has been developing its offer and extending its experience in order to meet the more and more urgent demands of energy suppliers and consumers to control the use of energy resources and remote steering of domestic equipment" stated Martine Gouriet, President of Edelia.

"The solution we are developing with Edelia teams perfectly demonstrates the synergy of the different skills that Sagem Communications possesses. We are using our basic skills, which are residential terminals, telecommunications and the manufacture of electronic products for the mass market, to meet tomorrow's requirements in the field of energy control", confirmed Eric Rieul, Director of Energy and Telecom Business Unit at Sagem Communications.
