Sambla launches savings account, expanding its personal finance offering

Sambla is launching its first savings account in Sweden, marking a significant step in the expansion of its personal finance offering in the Swedish market. The new account will offer customers in Sweden a simple and secure way to save, with a competitive interest rate and protection under the Swedish deposit guarantee scheme.

The launch follows Sambla Group’s authorisation as a Credit Market Company by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, Finansinspektionen, in June 2026 and the subsequent activation of the authorisation. The savings account is the first new service to be introduced as part of the Group’s broader development within personal finance.

“Saving is a fundamental part of building financial security. For many years, we have helped people navigate important financial decisions and find better terms for their loans. Being able to offer savings is a natural next step and brings us closer to our ambition of being the trusted financial partner throughout life,” says Hans Skruvfors, CEO of Sambla Group.

The new savings account offers are launched at an interest rate of 2,35 percent and covered by the Swedish deposit guarantee scheme. Customers will have free withdrawals and no fixed term, giving them full flexibility to access their savings when needed. The account can be opened and managed digitally through the Sambla app and is available to customers in Sweden. Customers can also open and manage their savings account when logged in on the web: https://minasidor.sambla.se/

The launch comes at a time when savings and financial resilience remain important priorities for Swedish households. After several years of high inflation and pressure on household finances, inflation has eased and purchasing power has begun to recover. At the same time, the interest rate environment makes it increasingly important for consumers to review the return they receive on money held in savings accounts.

“Building a financial buffer is one of the most important steps towards a more resilient personal economy. Money that may be needed at short notice should be easily accessible, but the interest rate still matters. Even relatively small differences in rates can make a meaningful difference to savings over time,” says Marcus Karlsson, personal finance expert at Sambla.

At the same time, independence and transparency remain central to Sambla’s business model. As the company expands its own offering, Sambla underlines that customers should always understand what product they are choosing, what terms apply and how different alternatives compare.

“Our business is built on trust, independence and transparency. Whether a product comes from Sambla or from one of our partners, customers should always have clear information and be able to make informed decisions. That remains the foundation as we broaden our offering,” says Hans Skruvfors.

“People’s financial needs change throughout life, and we want our services to develop with them. This launch is about giving our customers another simple tool to strengthen their finances. It is an important step in the continued development of Sambla and our broader personal finance offering,” says Hans Skruvfors.
