Scandinavian Photo initiates film project in collaboration with Fryshuset

During the summer, 60 youths in Stockholm will have the chance to share their stories through film and photo in the project “Filmsommar 2.0”. The project is a collaboration between Fryshuset and Scandinavian Photo initiated in order to arouse curiosity, passion and joy of storytelling.

“Filmsommar 2.0” aims to highlight young people's stories in a positive and creative context focusing on film and photography. Together with Fryshuset, Scandinavian Photo want to establish a platform to arouse curiosity, passion and joy of storytelling and bring the young people’s stories to life through film and photography.

The project will consist of a number of workshops and result in short films. “Filmsommar 2.0” then ends with a film festival where the participants receive constructive feedback from a jury of professional role models in film and photography. The participants will be recruited during visits to schools and youth centers in different neighborhoods.

-The major goal of the project is to increase the interest and the passion for film and photo. We see it as a long-term engagement to create more creators, while raising young people's stories in a positive and creative context. We are incredibly proud to do this together with Fryshuset who have great skills and work on the basis of young people's passions, says Maria Göransdotter Lindén, CMO at Scandinavian Photography.

- The project aims to arouse curiosity and tells the desire of youths by bringing their stories to life through film and photography. By reflecting on and analyze media standards, we encourage youngsters to push the limits. The stories will be a reflection of their present and our society, says Hengameh Haylie Hassas, project manager for “Filmsommar 2.0”.

Recruitment of participants will take place during May and the project will start in mid-June.
