THE SCIENTOLOGY RELIGION AND SYDSVENSKAN

Reporter Jens Mikkelsen wrote in an article in Sydsvenskan of 12 May 2012 that ” the Church of Scientology is set up as a global franchise business with religious and quasi-scientific aspects".

Jens Mikkselsen is an award-winning reporter who has demonstrated to know his profession, something for which he has been justly acknowledged. However, and just like others in his profession, when dealing with the subject of Scientology, reporting on facts and figures dropped to serious inaccuracy and innuendo time and again. It is as if the word “Scientology” puts them into horror, a fact that is fully unwarranted given the millions of Scientologists and the increasing demand for Scientology humanitarian assistance by individuals, groups and governments the world over.

Things go further than this, however. UK newspaper The London Daily Mail folded up and closed after they had engaged in attacks on the Church of Scientology in the 60's. In the 90's Time Magazine, leading as an opinion magazine in the world, engaged in attacks on the Church of Scientology for a short period of time. The result: it has completely lost that position it once had and is now fighting for survival. So one might wonder what is in stock for Sydsvenskan?

The factual status of the Church of Scientology is as follows.

The Scientology religion is the fastest growing religion in the world. Its total mission is helping every individual to find himself, to find greater happiness, to create a happier family life, to become more successful in life and gain understanding about his spiritual nature. Total Freedom is now obtainable through Scientology.

Evidence of its workability and success are the more than 10 million members worldwide.

The religious nature of Scientology has been confirmed over the years in expertises written by international, widely-acclaimed authorities in the field of religious sociology and history. Bryan Wilson, the late Emeritus Fellow of Oxford University who is considered to be the leading religious sociologist of all times, wrote two expertises where he confirmed and acknowledged the religious nature of Scientology, thereby using scientific, academic methodology.

And for anyone who would like to study the scientific principles on which Scientology is based, he can study its Axioms and Logics.

Scientology is currently recognized in many countries in the world, either as a religious community or as a religion. In Sweden, for example, the Scientology religious community was recognized by decision of the Kammarkollegiet in Stockholm in 2000. The Church of Scientology International, the mother-church of all Scientology Churches, was granted non-profit status and was therewith recognized in the US in 1993.

The Church of Scientology enjoys recognition in countries like Portugal, Hungary, Spain, Venezuela, Brasil, Nicaragua, Philippines, India, Nepal, Australia, New-Zealand, South-Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Argentina and Croatia.

December 2005 — The Federal Supreme Administrative Court in Germany upheld a ruling of the Hamburg State Administrative Court of Appeal that actions taken by the Hamburg government to discriminate against a Scientologist interfered with her right to religious freedom protected by the German Constitution.

April 2007 — The European Court of Human Rights, the highest court in the European Union, recognized the right of the Church of Scientology of Moscow to be registered as a religious organization under the Russian Religion Law. This decision was reaffirmed by the Court in September 2007.

Its anti-drug campaign called Drugfree World is the largest non-governmental anti-drug initiative of its kind in the world. Its human rights campaign has, per an official statement of the United Nations, made more people aware of their rights as described in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights than any other organization on earth.

The effective solutions of Scientology are in high demand by individuals, organizations and governments.

To cater to this demand, in 2012, new Scientology Churches have opened in Hamburg, Sacramento  and Cincinnati. Other Ideal Churches of Scientology have opened in recent years in Minneapolis, New York, Washington D.C., Tampa, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Pasadena and Inglewood; Québec City, Mexico City,  London, Melbourne, Brussels, Malmö, Madrid, Rome, Berlin and Moscow.

And we are definitely, definitely still in Arlöv and are there to stay!

More than 10 new Ideal Organizations are further scheduled for grand opening in 2012.

Scientologi-kyrkan i Stockholm
