SCP & Göteborg International Film Festival launch online filmmaker competition

SCP & the Göteborg International Film Festival have launched the annual online “Dragon Award for New Talent” short film competition. The award, now in its third year, gives budding filmmakers a chance to win a prestigious award and provides international interest for the film festival.

“My aim for the Dragon Award for New Talent (DANT) is to make it the most popular online film competition in the world. This will be achieved by making it a place for ambitious filmmakers to genuinely get a foot on the ladder of a successful career in film. With each passing year, the online buzz has grown, and it’s satisfying to be a part of the Göteborg Film Festivals increasing world stature” – Russell Clark, Head of Digital Production, SCP.

Sales & Marketing Manager Karl Svedung describes the competition:

- “The DANT online short film competition is a fantastic initiative from SCP which has given us a lot of international spread to many new filmmakers and their friends abroad. The competition creates a window for international short films, and it is a website that is highly appreciated among the audience for a long time during the year. Unique website visitors came from 114 countries to last years competition”.
