Iconic Sheraton Stockholm Hotel celebrates 50 years!

It has been 50 years since the hotel opened its doors to the public. It very quickly became a success among both Swedish and international guests, with its unique location overlooking the Old Town and Lake Mälaren. Ever since this iconic building has been a landmark in the center of the Swedish capital.

When the hotel opened in 1971, it was the first Sheraton hotel in Europe. It was also one of the first hotels in Sweden to belong to a large international chain. The characteristic brown-red façade made of chamotte, was designed by the world-famous architects Ahlgren-Olsson-Silow making it a listed building, and in turn putting it on the ‘Classification of Cultural Heritage in Stockholm’ map.

To include the public in the celebration and mark this momentous occasion, the hotel has created a special offer where guests pay the symbolic sum of 1971 SEK for a junior suite overlooking the water, with Club Lounge access, a bottle of sparkling wine in the room and breakfast buffet for two in the morning. The offer is valid from November 2021 to March 2022.
