Reliably on the right course – SICK at Nor-Shipping 2017
Waldkirch, Germany, April 2017 – At Nor-Shipping 2017, SICK will be presenting the MARSIC ship emissions measuring device, which reliably captures the measured values in maritime emission control areas. The company's appearance at the trade fair will also focus on the topic of remote service, which is vital particularly when it comes to data-based analysis and process measuring technology within the context of Industry 4.0.
Providing expert assistance and quick service to customers is a priority during commissioning and operation. Deviations in measurements can be detected quickly owing to the reliable data which is communicated in real time. The emissions data management solutions from SICK constantly capture, store, visualize, and evaluate emissions data. SICK also offers options for event logging, parameter logging, and reports using state-of-the-art technology.
MARSIC – ship emissions measuring device
SICK's MARSIC ship emissions measuring device is an innovative solution for reliably measuring emissions on ships according to MARPOL Annex VI and MEPC.259 (68). MARSIC is type-approved by DNV GL (amongst others) for this application and can measure both SO2 and CO2 upstream and downstream of scrubbers, as well as NOx upstream and downstream of SCR (selective catalytic reduction) plants. In addition, it can also be used for CH4 emission measurements at LNG (liquefied natural gas) fired or dual-fuel engines.
SICK offers two variants of MARSIC: MARSIC200 has an impressive modular housing concept. MARSIC300 is available as a compact complete system. Designed to be used on ships, they boast extremely straightforward maintenance, provide calibration check without span gases and modules that are easy to replace.
