The expression ‘the devil is in the details’ may sound presumptuous and in some sense boring. However, the expression carries a truth which is hard to ignore. Detail orientation is the driving force behind perfection and it's increasingly becoming an important part of our society today. In fashion and beauty, details make up the perfect dress or a nourishing moisturizer. The perfect line of a shirt or skirt, a well thought-out seam, mother of pearl buttons, trimmings and linings – all are part of perfection, and ultimately, of luxury. May I share my autumn and winter favourite detail with you — the dot —
I found these at a warehouse in Stockholm, they are from a vanished past and incredibly beautiful. I added them to classic blouses and scarves and they suggested a game: the knitted skirt got its crochet dots and finally the collection was completed by the shirt collars with printed dots. The combination of wool, dark blue, black and crème and dots and high craftsmanship sends my imagination in French directions – share my imagination or create your own.
