Deloitte and Snow Software announce a global alliance to assist clients in their Software License & Asset Management

Deloitte Belgium and Snow Software announced a global alliance on June 1, 2015 to offer Software Asset and License Management services to the market. The global alliance for SAM represents a logical step forward from an existing relationship where Deloitte employed Snow technologies to deliver specialist SAM services for SAP software and licensing. The new agreement extends to cover all major software publishers and platforms.

“Licensing models become more complex over time and the pace of changes in technology increases year after year.However, the requirement to stay in compliance with software contracts remains. While many companies increased their efforts to stay in control of their IT assets, they also struggled to obtain the required specialist knowledge to do so. The complexity, along with the continuous need for education on SAM concepts and product license terms, not only for the SAM team but also for the interfacing functions, puts a significant burden on an organisation,” said Diederik Van der Sijpe, Partner at Deloitte.

Deloitte has more than 800 dedicated Software License and Asset Management professionals around the world. The alliance with Snow Software provides Deloitte the ability to provide end-to-end services to the market, assisting customers to optimize their software spend and manage their software estate.According to a study on the SAM Services Market for Effective Third-Party Support, Gartner recommends that “software asset managers consider a full end-to-end SAM service covering all products from all vendors. This should include support for the design and implementation of the internal governance processes.”By embarking on a global alliance, Deloitte and Snow Software have further demonstrated their ability to provide full end-to-end SAM services.

As SAM becomes more vital for the market, companies are discovering that the key to success is combining deep Software Asset and Licensing knowledge with a successful SAM platform.As Gartner detailed, joint relationships like the one between Deloitte and Snow Software “can be extremely effective in the management of complex, multinational, or specialised IT environments.”This partnership will allow clients to benefit from the technical knowledge, tools, and process experience of both firms.
