SodaStream launches new CO2 refill line in Sweden – Think global drink local. Less transportation!
SodaStream announces the launch of its new refill line of CO2 carbonating cylinders in Löddeköpinge, Sweden (located near Malmö) which will be the 7th refill line of SodaStream worldwide. The line will serve all the Nordic countries starting from May 5th 2010.
The refill line is one of the most advanced, qualitative and effective filling lines in the world. The new line meets all the CE safety requirements of the facility and workers - under EU directive. The CO2 materials being used are “Pure CO2” with no additives filled into the cylinder.
The filling line and the CO2 filled into the carbonating cylinders meets the most strict safety guidelines: ISBT guidelines for beverage grade carbon dioxide and standard BS EN 936-2006 chemicals for water treatment & carbon dioxide. The CO2 meets the quality recommended by EUROPEAN INDUSTRIAL GASES ASSOCIATION AISBL on IGC Doc 70/08/E.
This new refill line represents an exciting development for SodaStream and will eliminate the need to transport empty cylinders to and from Sweden and Germany's refill line. By filling the carbonating cylinders in the local refill line, SodaStream will reduce hundreds of tonnes of carbon footprint eliminating the unnecessary transportation, which means less transport pollution by trucks and saving approximately 3,000,000 kilometres a year.
