Alan Walker launches ’The Walker Excavations’ – an elaborate interactive fan experience

Today Alan Walker, one of the most influential artists of his genre, launches the mobile experience ‘The Walker Excavations’. The campaign centers around an escape room-style platform, with five levels to be released in parts, parallel to his ongoing single- and video trilogy.

The storyline follows the narrative of the music video trilogy consisting of ‘On My Way’ and two upcoming singles. Fans will play as the character known from Alan’s videos simply as Walker #28300 and will have to search for clues to solve problems and advance through the different rooms.

The experience extends beyond the platform with the protagonist from the music videos interacting with the evil corporation Red Nexus through their various social media channels. Fans will also be able to interact with these channels, not only to find clues to advance through the rooms but to access exclusive content or discuss plot theories with other ‘Walkers’.

Since the release of his debut single ‘Faded’ his fans, also referred to as ‘Walkers’ have grown to become an expanding movement with members all around the world. Together these Walkers try to figure out the plot and sub-plots of the Walker Universe and help each other to unravel the mysteries of this ongoing legend.

Few artists have been able to engage fans with a narrative beyond the music like Alan has over his career. As if taken from a sci-fi movie, fans have since day one been able to follow the storyline, going back to Walker #01, who is driven to find the lost civilization and use its technology and ancient knowledge to save humanity from itself.

Alan Walker is the gaming kid from Norway who went from producing tracks for his gameplay uploads to become a multi-platinum, award-winning world-wide superstar. In just four years his music has been streamed more than 18 billion times and 42 million people follow him on his social platforms every day.
