Brittiska bandet Wolf Alice släpper singeln ”Bloom Baby Bloom” idag och nya albumet ”The Clearing” 29 augusti

Det banbrytande brittiska rockbandet Wolf Alice släpper nya singeln ”Bloom Baby Bloom” idag – första smakprovet från det kommande, efterlängtade fjärde studioalbumet ”The Clearing” som släpps den 29 augusti världen över via Sony Music. Albumet är skrivet i Seven Sisters och är inspelat i Los Angeles med Grammybelönade mästerproducenten Greg Kurstin. Albumet ”The Clearing” representerar Wolf Alice 2025 – vi får en samling låtar med självförtroende, ambition, nytänkande och fulla med känslor.

Första spåret ut, ”Bloom Baby Bloom” öppnar portarna för nya albumet, och bandets skickliga sångerska Ellie Rowsell står i centrum tillsammans med den mäktiga, dynamiska ljudbilden. Vi bjuds på en kraftfull och passionerad introduktion till ”The Clearing” - en hyllning till utveckling och expansion i livet, musiken och konsten. Med sitt rullande basriff får vi en en smart, avmaskuliniserad twist på tung rock.

“I wanted a rock song, to focus on the performance element of a rock song and sing like Axl Rose, but to be singing a song about being a woman,” säger Ellie. “I’ve used the guitar as a shield in the past, playing it has perhaps been some way to reject the ‘girl singer in band’ trope, but I wanted to focus on my voice as a rock instrument so it’s been freeing to put the guitar down and reach a point where I don’t feel like I need to prove that I’m a musician.”

Den mäktiga och fängslande musikvideon till “Bloom Baby Bloom” är regisserad av filmskaparen och fotografen Colin Solal Cardo som tidigare jobbat med bland andra Charli XCX, Robyn, Christine & The Queens och Phoenix. Musikvideon bjuder på ett klassiskt rockframträdande kombinerat med Bob Fosse och All That Jazz, där vi får se Ellie och bandet tillsammans med dansare – koreograferade av Emmybelönade Ryan Heffington (Euphoria, Sia, Kenzo + Margaret Qualley).

Under åren har Wolf Alice spelat live ett flertal gånger i Sverige - bland annat som förband till Harry Styles och på Lollapalooza 2022.

Wolf Alice have come a long way since the North London quartet first emerged in 2013 as a young band holding a mirror up to their own emerging generation.
