The Stockholm International Film Festival celebrates the latest Swedish talents in film and television through the TV4 Rising Star Award. This year, five young actors are nominated for the prestigious prize. The winner will be announced at the festival’s grand awards ceremony on November 14th.
This year, the Stockholm International Film Festival honors American director and screenwriter Benny Safdie with the Stockholm Visionary Award. Safdie will attend the festival with his new film The Smashing Machine and will receive the award at a screening of the film at Bio Skandia.
The recipient of the Stockholm Achievement Award 2025 is the multilayered actor Alexander Skarsgård, who is visiting Stockholm International Film Festival with the highly anticipated Pillion from BAFTA-nominated director Harry Lighton.
For it’s 36th consecutive year, Stockholm Film Festival invites audiences, actors and directors to twelve dazzling days between November 5–16. The long-awaited festival program is finally being released, with 135 premieres on the schedule. This year’s festival is dedicated to David Lynch, whose memory will be honored through film screenings, stagetalks, and a “Lynchified” Bio Skandia.
