Actor David Dencik joins the Jury
The Stockholm International Film Festival proudly announces that renowned Danish-Swedish actor David Dencik will serve on the jury for the festival’s main competition – Stockholm Competition 2025.
Stockholm Competition brings together new and innovative directors who are competing for the festival’s most prestigious award – the Bronze Horse.
This year, the awarded and internationally acclaimed Danish–Swedish actor David Dencik is in the competition jury. Dencik is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished and versatile actors of the Nordics. With more than 25 years of experience in film and television, he has built an impressive international career, appearing in productions such as The Chestnut Man (2021), No Time to Die (2021), and Quick (2019). Dencik also garnered international acclaim for his performance in the award-winning TV-series Chernobyl (2019).
Renowned for his ability to portray deeply complex and human characters, Dencik brings a unique artistic sensibility to the jury. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to cinema, he was appointed Honorary Doctor by the Artistic Faculty at the University of Gothenburg.
Serving alongside Dencik on the Stockholm Competition jury are award-winning Swedish producer and jury chair Eva Åkergren, and acclaimed FIPRESCI-award winner Mikael Marcimain, director of Blackwater (2023), The Hunt for a Killer (2020), and Call Girl (2012).
