Here are the nominees for the TV4 Rising Star Award 2025

For the seventeenth year in a row, the Stockholm International Film Festival celebrates the latest Swedish talents in film and television through the TV4 Rising Star Award. This year, five young actors are nominated for the prestigious prize. The winner will be announced at the festival’s grand awards ceremony on November 14th, and will be rewarded with a trip to the Cannes Film Festival as well as a newly designed statuette from Kosta Boda.

Once again, it’s time to honor the next big breakthrough in Swedish film and TV. The jury - consisting of chair Simon Norrthon (Swedish Union for Performing Arts and Film), Lisa Rosengren Lagercrantz (Film & TV Producers Association), Jan Göransson (The Swedish Film Institute), and actors Adam Lundgren (The Ugly Stepsister) and Celie Sparre (The Truth Will Out) – has carefully examined this year’s productions to find the most memorable performances in front of the camera. The competition has been fierce amongst the country’s finest young actors - but soon, a new star will stand ready to receive their well-deserved recognition during the festival’s award ceremony.

This year’s nominees:

Josef Kersh, (Kevlarsoul)

Adja Sise Stenson, (Kevlarsoul)

Nils Wetterholm, (The Dance Club)

Clara Christiansson Drake, (Gåsmamman)

Ella Rae Rapparport, (Egghead Republic)

I am incredibly happy (and a little bit shocked!) to have been nominated for this year's Rising Star Award – what an honor! It feels both great and very fun to be part of such a great initiative that highlights Swedish actors early in their careers. This nomination means a lot to me, and I am really looking forward to the festival, Adja Sise Stenson says about her nomination.

The TV4 Rising Star Award annually honors a young Swedish talent in film and television who during the past year has demonstrated strong artistic achievements and, above all, shows great potential.

The award’s history goes back over two decades, and past winners include several names who have since established themselves both nationally and internationally - among them Edvin Ryding, Alba August, and Alicia Vikander.

It feels incredibly fun! It's a huge honor to be nominated for an award that several of Sweden's top actors have won, some being my personal favorites! This nomination really encourages me to continue developing as an actor, says Nils Wetterholm.

The award will be presented during the Stockholm International Film Festival’s grand gala on November 14th, and the winner can look forward to an exclusive trip to the Cannes Film Festival 2026 as well as – for the first time ever – a trophy designed by Markus Åkesson for Kosta Boda.
