Here are the winners at Stockholm Film Festival Junior 2021

The winners of Best film at the 22nd edition of the Stockholm film festival Junior have been announced. The jury have selected Jackie and Oopjen, directed by Annemarie van de Mond as the winner in the category Best film 6-10 years and Fortuna – the Girl and the Giants directed by Nicolangelo Gelormini as the winner in the category 11-19 years.

The junior jury group, consisting of nine young film fans, has awarded the Bronze Horse for Best film in the categories 6-10 years and 11-19 years. The winners are the Dutch film Jackie and Oopjen directed by Annemarie van de Mond and the Italian film Fortuna – the Girl and the Giants directed by Nicolangelo Gelormini. The directors will receive their Bronze Horses via video greetings to their young audience in a digital Award Ceremony on Friday April 23.

Bronze Horse for Best Film (category 6-10 years):
Jackie and Oopjen by Annemarie van de Mond

The jury’s motivation: The winning film is about a girl that lives with her mother and little sister in Amsterdam, Holland. The film is about friendship and to help each other through everything is a big part of the film. The message to be there for each other and that everyone can do different things no matter where you come from, what country or century, is very important. We get to follow along on many exciting scenes, including one where the main characters escape from villains. We are taken on a journey back in time, get a look back on history but also take part in a lot of humor.

Bronze Horse for Best Film (category 11-19 years):
Fortuna - the Girl and the Giants by Nicolangelo Gelormini

The jury’s motivation: This year’s winning film has managed to capture the feeling of a tragic, true story. The film awoke many emotions and was a true cinematic experience. The film manages to create a mood of discomfort and being insecure and still manages to tell such an important story. All the details, from the cinematography and colors to angles and acting is well elaborated and innovative. An eye-opener that gave an all new and unique perspective. This was a fantastic film that the jury will never forget.
