SOMMARBIO (OUTDOOR CINAMA) IN STOCKHOLM, AUGUST 13–17 – THEME: BAD ROMANCE
SOMMARBIO (OUTDOOR CINEMA) IN RÅLIS, AUGUST 13–17 – THEME: BAD ROMANCE
This year marks the 35th anniversary of Sommarbio – a beloved Stockholm tradition, and the biggest outdoor cinema in Europe, that has brought together hundreds of thousands of film lovers under the evening sky. To celebrate this milestone, we're presenting an extra special edition with the theme Bad Romance, a sneak preview already on August 8 with boat-in – and as always: free admission and five days of festivities in Rålambshovsparken, August 13–17.
Sneak Preview on August 8 – The Nordics’ Largest Cinema on Water
The celebration kicks off early on August 8 with a boat-in – a spectacular outdoor screening on the water at Stadshuskajen. Visitors can join by boat, on a SUP board, or along the quay for a one-of-a-kind film experience with Stockholm City Hall as the backdrop. The boat-in pays tribute to summer, Stockholm’s waterways, film, and the magic of the city – a perfect way to launch the festivities.
This Year’s Sommarbio Theme: Bad Romance
This year’s film selection is a tribute to love’s darker sides – when passion burns too brightly, moves too fast, or ends in chaos.
“These are films that strike a chord in the heart, and there’s nothing more beautiful than experiencing them together on a warm summer evening, surrounded by thousands of others. Expect emotion, magic, suspense, and romance – everything film is meant to be,” says Beatrice Karlsson, Program Director Stockholm International Film Festival.
