Stockholm International Film Festival presents Rising Star winner Erik Svedberg-Zelman at Festival de Cannes 2025

Promising actor Erik Svedberg-Zelman, and winner of the Rising Star Award 2024 at Stockholm International Film Festival, will be present at upcoming Festival de Cannes. As part of the Rising Star Award he will now be introduced as one of this year’s most notable emerging swedish talents to the film industry.

Born in 1996 in New York City, Svedberg-Zelman moved to Sweden at the age of 12. He began his acting career on stage at Malmö Stadsteater and later at The Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramaten) in Stockholm. Since then, he has garnered attention for his work on screen in recent productions such as Düsseldorf, Skåne (2024), Paradise (2024) and The Helicopter Heist (2024), directed by Daniél Espinosa.

The Rising Star Award is an annual recognition established by Stockholm Film Festival to highlight young acting talents who have made significant achievements in film. The goal of the award is to support and promote actors early in their careers. Previous recipients include Alicia Vikander, Gustav Lindh, and Alba August. Each year, the winner is presented at an international press event in Cannes.

For the 2025 edition of the award, TV4 Play will join as "Official Streaming Partner" and also the host of the prestigious "TV4 Rising Star Award.

Erik Svedberg-Zelman will be introduced and interviewed during the Swedish Film Institute’s international press conference in Cannes, taking place on Saturday, May 17 at 1:30 PM CET at Nordic House, 11 Square Mérimée. The press conference will be held in English.

Svedberg-Zelman will attend the Festival de Cannes from May 16–18, 2025.
