The Stockholm International Film Festival Grand opening and award ceremony

The Stockholm International Film Festival 2022 takes place on November 9-20, and this year the opening ceremony will be especially exclusive and familiar. The festival will be opened by festival director Git Scheynius in the presence of director Tarik Saleh and actor Fares Fares on November 9.

DATE: Wednesday 9 November

TIME:

5:30 pm - doors open

6.00 pm - inauguration held by Helena Eklund, Filmstaden, and Git Scheynius, festival director, followed by Fares Fares' awarding of the Stockholm Film Festival Achievement Award 2022

6.10 pm - Face2Face together with director Tarik Saleh and actor Fares Fares

6.30 pm - film screening of Boy from Heaven

LOCATION: Cinema Skandia

Fares Fares has a solid film resume and have his credits include both Swedish and international productions. He had his breakthrough on the big screen back in 2000 with the film Jalla! Jalla! and has subsequently starred in several critically acclaimed films such as the comedy classic Kopps (2003), the action drama Easy Money (2010) and Easy Money II (2012). During the 2010s, he has appeared in several international productions such as the American thriller Zero Dark Thirty (2012), Rouge One: A Star Wars Story (2016) and the multiple award-winning TV series Chernobyl (2019).

Time: Monday 7 November at: 13.00

Location: Cinema Victoria, Götgatan 67

During the opening at Skandia, an exclusive art exhibition will be held of the 9 kilo glass sculpture that will be given to the winner of the Nikon Short Film Award. The figurine is created by one of Kosta Boda's foremost artists, Markus Åkesson. The artwork will be exhibited until the grand award ceremony on November 16.
