These are the winners from Stockholm Film Festival Junior 2023

Stockholm Film Festival Junior has finished its festival week with screenings all over Sweden, and has once more established itself as an exciting national film festival, in which all swedish youth can take part. During the last three editions, the festival program has been available both as physical screenings and digitally through the platform Festival on Demand. 35 films from 20 countries has been shown at cinemas, schools, libraries and childrens hospitals, and gathered an audience over 30 000.

These are the most watched films of Stockholm Film Festival Junior 2023:

1.When the Robbers came to Cardamom Town by Rasmus A. Sivertsen (Norway)
2. Ernest & Celestine – A trip to Gibberitia by Julien Chheng & J-C Roger(France, Luxembourg)
3. My Fairy Troublemaker by Caroline Origer (Luxembourg, Germany)
4. Hug me - The Honey Seekers by Anna Blaszcyk (China, Polen)
5. Full of Grace by Roberto Bueso (Spain)
6. The Lulus by Yann Samuell (France)
7. The Tiger's nest by Brando Quilici (Italy)
8. Oliver's Universe by Alexis Morante (Spain)
9. Properties of Metals by Antonio Bigini (Italy)
10. Bigman by Camiel Schouwenaar (the Netherlands, Germany)

The films have been shown all over Sweden and each county has had its own favourite. In the northern county, Västerbotten, the most popular film was The Tiger's Nest by Brando Quilici whilst in Stockholm the main favourite was Ernest & Celestine – A trip to Gibberitia by Julien Chheng & J-C Roger. In Skåne, in the south, it was Bigman by Camiel Schouwenaar. Hug me - The honey seekers by Anna Blaszcyk was the most watched on the island of Gotland.


Spanish spoken films were shining the brightest and became favourites amongst the jury. This year’s two Bronze Horses for Best Film was awarded to director Roberto Bueso for his film Full of Grace (category 6 – 10 y/o), and in the older category it was Sofía Auza who won with her film Adolfo.

The festival saw a great interest in the short film competition, 1 Minut Film, which is the largest of its kind in Sweden. More than 350 films has been submitted and amongst these three winners have been selected:

DÖDEN PÅ JUPITER by Tim, Rebecca, Felix, Viggo, Ludwig, Titio, Azia, Eddie, 9 y/o, from Sundbyskolan in Spånga (category 6-10 y/o)

VÅLD LÖSER INGET by Yassen, Chibuzo, Benjamin, Younes, Edvard, 12 y/o, from Bagarmossens skola in Stockholm (category 11-14 y/o)

OUR HEARTS DESIRE by Maximus Aggenberg Barsati 18 y/o, from Stockholm and filmed in France (category 15-19 y/o)

The 25th edition of Stockholm Film Festival Junior will take place in April 2024.
