This year's winner of the SkyShowtime Rising Star Award 2024

Erik Svedberg-Zelman receives the 2024 SkyShowtime Rising Star Award. This year the audience has been allowed to vote and was the "sixth jury member".

The jury's reasoning reads: "This year's Rising Star is a character actor who completely gives himself to his roles without losing himself. In his latest film, Düsseldorf, Skåne, our winner portrays a young man exploring his identity. A man who outwardly distances himself from the world, but is driven by a need to belong and be loved. His sensitive and uncompromising acting leaves us longing for more and we look forward to Erik Svedberg-Zelman's journey towards the stars.”

Erik’s work includes roles in the play Hur vi försvinner at the Royal Dramatic Theatre (2022) and the monologue production Jag säger ingenting alls at Teater Brunnsgatan Fyra (2023). He has appeared in the TV series Toppen (2022) and took on a leading role in the feature film Düsseldorf, Skåne (2024). Soon, he will be seen in the TV series Helikopterrånet.

The nominees for the SkyShowtime Rising Star Award are selected by an expert jury consisting of chairman Simon Norrthon (the union Stage & Film), Lisa Rosengren Lagercrantz (Film & TV producers), and Jan Göransson (Swedish Film Institute). This year's jury also features the actors Nanna Blondell (House of the Dragon, Concordia) and Henrik Norlén (I dina Händer, Midsommar, Slutet på sommaren).
